When is a water test useful and how good is German drinking water quality really?

German drinking water is generally of very high quality and is checked almost daily through internal water analyses
by waterworks before it begins the long journey into the end user's pipes. However, what most people don't know:
The responsibility of the waterworks ends at the consumer's main connection. From this point on, the property owner is responsible for the
water quality. It is not just old water pipes and poorly maintained drinking water systems that affect the
actual quality from the tap. Most contamination occurs via the faucet or the
faucet fitting.
Therefore, the readings from the waterworks are not representative for the end consumer. So, if you want to know the true
quality of your tap water, you should have a water analysis performed in a drinking water laboratory!

How does the water analysis process work?
After a successful order, we will ship your water analysis kit within 1 working day (or the working day following a weekend)
via Deutsche Post / DHL or UPS courier. The test kit contains everything you need for sample collection.
You do not need any prior knowledge.
After you have collected the sample, simply use the return material we have provided and
send your sample directly to the accredited German drinking water laboratory. Here, your water sample is analyzed professionally without detours or delays.

How does contaminated drinking water affect health?

The quality of the drinking water flowing from the home tap has enormous effects on health.
Even if you do not drink your tap water, you will ultimately use it for cooking. Unlike most
bacteria and germs, heavy metals are not "boiled away" in this process. Contamination by heavy metals such as lead
or copper poses a threat to the organism that can have a lingering effect and may even be misdiagnosed.
Signs of this can include persistent fatigue, lethargy, and frequent headaches.

If drinking water flows through lead pipes, it is very unlikely that the limits for heavy metals in drinking water established
in the Drinking Water Ordinance will be met. If this is the case, there is an immediate health risk for the consumer,
meaning further steps, up to and including the remediation of the drinking water installation,
must be initiated.

material quality of the installed faucet fittings in order to prevent potential follow-up damage.
